About Me
I’ve counted calories. I’ve been underweight. I’ve been overweight. Now I’ve found a healthy balance with food and exercise. I discovered that my weight is the least interesting thing about me. I also know what it’s like to feel powerless and out of control around food. I’ve been through it with food and I’m here to help you on your journey to health, confidence and empowerment.
Neurodivergence runs in my family
I grew up with a dad who ate the same bologna and Wonder bread sandwich every day for lunch. My 10 year old son used to only like apples but is slowly trying new fruits and vegetables in his own time. I see how the traditional, neurotypical approach to food has impacted my dad’s relationship with food. It’s important to me to teach my son and clients that they are not being picky or difficult. Eating in a way that fits with your food preferences will be the most sustainable and will improve your confidence with food and overall health.
Vegetarianism
I’ve been Vegan, pescatarian and Vegetarian. My family eats meat so I am comfortable preparing and cooking all types of foods. Whether you avoid meat for sensory preferences or live with a vegetarian, we can find ways to meet your protein needs.
Strength training improved my relationship with food & body
My relationship with my body has greatly improved once I began strength training. My focus switched from being skinny to being strong. I now feed my body to fuel it, energize it and meet my strength goals. Strength training is wonderful but so is any movement you enjoy. Simply moving your body will help your dopamine levels, improve your appetite and help you eat more regularly throughout the day.
